About the Job 

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to manage and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The role involves administering Windows servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, backup solutions, and network services. The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to system monitoring and issue resolution. They will also collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support business-critical IT operations and infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities / Expectations 

  • Server Administration: Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) environments. Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and reliability across physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Virtualisation: Manage and optimise VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, storage, and networking.
  • Identity & Access Management: Administer Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and Azure AD Connect. Manage user provisioning, permissions, authentication, and hybrid identity services.
  • Messaging & Microsoft 365.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery.
  • Patch Management.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Monitor infrastructure health using tools such as OpManager. Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, capacity, and availability issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve server, operating system, virtualization, storage, network, and application issues. Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support and root cause analysis for critical incidents.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with hardware, software, and service vendors for issue resolution, maintenance, warranty support, and infrastructure upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in Windows Server administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Exchange, VMware/Hyper-V, and backup solutions.
  • Good understanding of networking, Windows patch management, and IT security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Desired Qualifications 

  • Microsoft, VMware, or Azure certifications (preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with IT monitoring tools and security best practices.
  • Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment and managing IT infrastructure projects.
